I know I really changed my concept but that's only because I didn't feel the same way as I did when I first started. To be honest I don't like the idea of drawing myself because I've noticed when you look at something for a long time you start to realize something about it. In a way I want to hide that realization especially from myself.
Maisum,i feel that the photograph doesn't do your piece justice. there is this haunting air to your work that captures the audience. The deep hues of the ink don't come through online, and the brightness of the paper is also dulled. In person though one can relate to this feeling of hidden darkness. There's this sense of the unknown, like the viewer is begging for an answer but you won't give you. It gives you a sense of strength and mystery; all hidden under this wash of simplicity.Overall i love the piece (more so in person than online) if i were you i'd darken the background though to heighten the senses of the piece
ReplyDeleteThanks, I appreciate the criticism. You have a pretty good idea of my concept and I like your interpretation of it.
